Quick review on Princess Cecilie's life

Princess Cecilie of Greece and Denmark was born at Tatoi Palace, near Athens, on 22 June 1911. She had three sisters and one brother. Cecilie was the third-eldest sister to Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark. She was the third of five children of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.

The early childhood of Princess Cecilie was spent happily rather than her teenage age when she had to flee various countries with her family because of political disorder in Europe in the Early 20th century.

Cecilie married Georg Donatus on 2 February 1931. They had three children, Ludwig (1931–1937), Alexander (1933–1937), and Johanna (1936–1939). She also joined the Nazi Party at the same time as her husband in May 1937.

For the wedding of Prince Louis Princess Cecilie was flying from Frankfurt to London with a stopover in Ostend. The plane wing and the engine got struck by a chimney of a factory, therefore the landing was unsuccessful and all the passengers onboard died including Princess Cecilie (eight months pregnant), Georg Donatus, their two sons Ludwig and Alexander.
